Yesterday, Clara had a day of firsts: her first rodeo, first ferris wheel ride, and first concert. Bekah, Lennea, and Jackson invited us to spend the day with them at the Houston Livestock and Rodeo.

The rodeo comes to Houston every year with weeks of concerts, rodeos, and fair rides. This was Clara's first time, and she wore her new cowgirl outfit from Gran. We started at the fair by eating the traditional fiar cuisine: corn dogs, turkey legs, and funnel cakes.... not that Clara was interested, but you know what she loves? The ferris wheel! We thought she might get a little scared but she loved every minute of it.

We made our way into Reliant Stadium for the rodeo after our fun on the ferris wheel. We had great seats and Clara was talking nonstop about the horses. Horse Horse Horse... there were also lots of people around to entertain her.
The rodeo lasted over an hour. We saw bull riding, barrel racing, roping, and even the event where kids ride sheep. It was really funny. Maybe one day Clara will want to try it. During the rodeo, Clara got hungry for chocolate ice-cream, but she wasn't patient enough to be fed the ice-cream, she put her hand in and fed herself. The extra sugar made the rest of the event more entertaining. The concert that night was Billy Currington, or something like that. I'd never heard of him, but he put on a great show.
Who's that cute kid Clara is holding hands with? ;-)
